Akshay Kumar has been going through a lean patch in his career post COVID pandemic with many misses and few hits. He and Arshad Warsi have come together for third installment of Jolly LLB 3. The famous courtroom drama franchise has delivered solid films at the box office with Saurabh Shukla in the mix. Let's see how two Jollys will create Hungama in court.
Plot:
Jolly Mishra (Akshay Kumar) starts to steal clents Jolly Tyagi (Arshad Warsi) in Delhi High Court. Tyagi's wife Sandhya (Amrita Rao) works for an NGO and she refers Janaki Rajaram Solanki (Seema Biswas)'s case to him. But he tries to push her to Mishra as he wouldn't be earning any money. After knowing her story, he decides to take up her case.
She hails from Rajasthan and her farming land in Bikaner has been wrongly seized and allotted to corporate giant Haribhai Ketani (Gajraj Rao). In the court, Jolly Tyagi needs to face Jolly Mishra to bring justice to Janaki. What is her story? Will she be able convince both to fight on her side? Can judge Sunder Lal Tripathi (Saurabh Shukla) escape Jollys? Watch the movie to know more.
Analysis:
Jolly LLB worked because of the case it took upon and also the kind of realistic drama it could generate around it. In Jolly LLB 2, it took fake encounters case and tried to keep it as grounded as it can. But Jolly LLB 3 is more routine and simple than the other two.
While it tries to showcase a strong public issue, it lacks the same impact like the first one. Even though Subhash Kapoor is the writer and director, he looked completely out of depth in the third film. The scenes lack finesse and strength that the previous films had.
Each scene feels like a first draft level written piece and thought out completely. Also, the beats and arguments turn out lackluster. Akshay Kumar being a Superstar at the box office, Subhash has to concentrate more on him and Arshad Warsi got sidelined for most.
Even the crazy dynamic between Saurabh Shukla and two Jollys did not get enough screentime. The veteran actor's love track did evoke laughs but the main USP court room arguments did not land well. Overall, the movie turns out to be a disappointment.
Bottomline:
Nothing lands in this routine courtroom drama.
Rating: 2/5
